This course offers a basic knowledge of freediving and introductory skills such as relaxation of body and mind, finning techniques, duck dives and equalisation. The static and dynamic sessions in confined water are used to teach relaxation, breathing, finning and safety techniques. The course is designed to further develop skills from previous levels, to acquire new skills and gain a higher knowledge of safety procedures and techniques. The new techniques that are introduced are free-fall, Frenzel Equalizing, the use of training tables, the risks of increasing and decreasing pressure and also how to minimize these risks. This course familiarises students with techniques, knowledge and safety procedures for deep freediving that go beyond recreational freediving.

AIDA International is the parent organization for national clubs of the same name. National clubs begin to form over all Europe in — Deep freediving using bifins or a monofin. AIDA 1 Freediving Course
The AIDA 1 course is the perfect introduction to freediving. No previous diving experience is required! In this 1-day introductory course spread between the pool and open water, you will learn all you need to set you safely off on your freediving journey. During this one day course you will learn the basics of freediving theory; the equipment to use and why, how to prepare for a dive, and most importantly, the risks and dangers and how to deal with them. In both the pool and open water sessions you will learn the basics of holding your breath under water, duck dives, finning, buddying and safety procedures. The AIDA 1 course has no performance requirements or exams.
Not only will you learn the latest techniques for deeper diving but you will also learn more about conditioning your body for Freediving. This course will help you to redifine the limits of your Freediving abilities. You will learn how to perform a more advanced equalization technique, and more about how to stay fit for Freediving.
